RESONANCE
A 2-Day Crystal Singing Bowl Immersion with Suraya Sam
Something is calling you toward sound.
Maybe you received a sound bath and never quite forgot it — that feeling of the tone landing somewhere in your chest before your mind could catch up. Maybe you have been circling this for months, wondering if it is yours to learn.
It is.
Resonance is a two-day immersive training in crystal singing bowls, guided meditation and the art of listening.
Bergen · 6–7 February · 8 places only
This is for you if
You have felt the pull toward sound but do not know where to begin.
You have received a sound bath and thought:
I want to know how to do that.
You are a yoga teacher, therapist, coach, or wellness practitioner looking to deepen what you offer.
You want a skill you can practise on yourself and eventually share with others.
You have no musical background and wonder if that matters.
(It does not.)
What happens in the Room
From the moment you arrive on Day 1, you are playing. Not watching. Not taking notes while someone else demonstrates. Playing with a bowl in front of you, your hands on the mallets, and Suraya beside you.
Over two days, you will learn to make a single bowl sing, explore intervals and triads, layer multiple bowls with intention, work with Breath & Bowl, and gradually expand from a single tone into a complete soundscape.
You will learn four foundational playing techniques and begin to recognise the different harmonic qualities created when notes meet. Rather than being told what a sound should make someone feel, you will learn to listen, notice its character and trust your own developing ear.
You will also experience and explore the Three-Part Journey — Landing, Unfolding and Remembering — learning how voice, silence and carefully placed bowl cues can shape a complete meditative arc.
The Art of Guided Meditations
This is one of the elements that makes Resonance distinct.
The guided meditations within Resonance draw from the principles and structure of Yoga Nidra, the practice of yogic sleep that guides awareness into the space between waking and sleep.
Each journey moves through a considered arc of settling, intention, body awareness, contrasting sensations, stillness and conscious return. Crystal bowl cues are woven throughout, marking transitions and creating space for sound, voice and silence to work together.
Rather than prescribing what a participant should feel, you will learn to guide with presence, listen to the room and allow each person to have their own experience.
During the immersion, you will experience and explore the Three-Part Journey: Landing, Unfolding and Remembering, learning how guided meditation and crystal bowls can be woven into a complete sound journey.
You will also leave with the Signature Set Meditations as practices to continue exploring beyond the training.
The Three Pillars
Know Your Sound
Understand the foundations of crystal singing bowls — bowl types, frequency, notes, octaves and overtones. Explore 432 Hz tuning and learn to listen for the tonal relationships between bowls, developing the knowledge and intuition to choose a set that feels coherent in your hands.
Play With Purpose
Learn the core playing techniques and how to work with different mallets, dynamics, intervals and harmonic relationships. Explore triads, consonance and dissonance, layering, Breath & Bowl, transitions and silence. From a single bowl to a complete harmonic field, learn to create sound with intention rather than simply adding more.
Hold Space
Explore practitioner presence, consent, safety and the art of listening while facilitating. Learn how to shape a complete sound journey through Landing, Unfolding and Remembering, weaving together sound, guided meditation, breath and silence. Practise responding to the room, trusting your intuition and allowing the journey to unfold without forcing an outcome.
Your Certification
The Resonance certificate is not awarded for attendance alone.
It is earned through four post-training requirements completed in your own time: getting to know your bowl or set, completing 30 days of practice, facilitating three practice sound journeys for friends or family, and completing at least one of the recommended books within 60 days.
Your progress is recorded through the practice pages and logs provided as part of Resonance, including your Bowl Set Record, 30-Day Practice Log, Practice Sound Journey Records and Reading Reflection.
Once all four requirements have been completed and submitted, your Resonance certificate is issued.
It marks more than the end of a training. It reflects the practice that followed, the time spent listening, playing, facilitating and developing a real relationship with your bowls.
Your Bowl Set
You do not need a full set to begin.
One well-chosen bowl can become the foundation of your practice, with the option to expand into an interval, a triad or a fuller sound palette over time.
As a Resonance participant, you receive exclusive access to personalised, made-to-order 432 Hz crystal singing bowls from Suraya Sam’s signature collections, with guidance in choosing the notes, octaves and relationships that feel right for the practice you are building.
Choose by sound first. Build from there.

Your Mentor
My work lives in Sound. Not as technique, but as presence.
For close to two decades, my work has moved through yoga, meditation, somatics and embodied practice, with sound becoming an increasingly central part of how I hold space.
My relationship with sound began long before I began working with crystal singing bowls. As a child, I grew up with music, playing piano, clarinet and bass clarinet in symphony ensembles and singing in choir. Meditation was also part of my early life, giving me an understanding of listening that has continued to deepen over the years.
Today, through House of Ascend, I bring these threads together through crystal singing bowls, gongs, guided meditation, Yoga Nidra and embodied practice.
I have facilitated sound experiences, retreats and gatherings for communities and organisations including BBC, Netflix, LinkedIn, Google, Soho House, Lululemon and Puma, alongside intimate spaces where the work can become much quieter and more personal.
Resonance grew from this experience.
It is my way of sharing what I have learned through years of listening, practising and working with sound: not a formula to follow, but a foundation from which you can develop your own relationship with the bowls.
You don’t need to arrive knowing everything.
You simply need to be willing to listen.

From Day 1. You will have a bowl in front of you from the beginning, learning through demonstration, guided practice and plenty of time to explore. Resonance is a hands-on immersion, not a training where you spend two days simply taking notes.

Its principles and structure inform the guided meditation work within Resonance, where voice, silence and carefully placed bowl cues are woven together to create a complete meditative journey.

Your progress is recorded through the practice pages and logs provided as part of Resonance. Once all requirements have been completed and submitted, your certificate is issued.
