Gemini new Moon ritual & week 1 Mantra syllabus

This month’s New Moon conjuncts with Gemini, which rules the realm of information exchange. Gemini is often called the sign of communication, and inspires us to express ourselves as a means of gaining answers to our search for truth. In her highest state, Gemini is open-minded and non-judgemental. On a constant quest for understanding, Gemini does not qualify the information she obtains as right or wrong: She merely accepts things for what they are. Gemini also reminds us that we need each other. Each person offers a unique perspective and a unique understanding of a piece of the vast world we live within. By harmonising with different aspects of the universe, we begin to see the bigger picture in our personal quest for truth.

This New Moon, we may be influenced by Gemini’s energies to open channels of communications where we normally would shy away from. We are reminded that we must be willing to ask the right questions to the answers we seek. We must be willing to ask for help when necessary. We are reminded to listen, and recognise that we need to be open to receiving information in all forms. Gemini reminds us that knowledge comes to us in many ways, including energetically. This New Moon, we may want to ground ourselves and practice stillness to tune into the information we are being given by those who may be guiding us.

The season of Gemini is a time to align with our inquisitive nature and survey where our life is headed. This is not a time of judgement, but rather open-mindedness about how the pieces of our life are contributing to the larger picture. It is a time to question the status quo; our day-to-day reality, including our relationships, jobs, habits, routines and belief systems. Is everything aligned? What other information do we need to complete the larger whole? We must remember to strip away the ego and open up to the possibilities that exist around us that ultimately contribute to our higher purpose.

For our New Moon Ritual this month, we will be working with the energies of Clear Quartz. From ancient times to the present day, Clear Quartz have been a source of Light to mankind. Highly valued by spiritual leaders and healers as well as scientists, the unique attributes of quartz have played a key role in mankind's evolutionary development.

Resonating at the level of an individual's needs, Clear Quartz also amplifies whatever energy or intent is programmed into it, and continues to broadcast that energy throughout the world and into the etheric realms. This may accelerate the fulfilment of one's prayers, intensify healing or spiritual growth, or simply allow the crystal to hold a pattern of energy long enough and strongly enough for the manifestation of a goal to occur. The same properties of energy amplification, programmability and memory also make Clear Quartz the most versatile and multidimensional stone in the mineral kingdom for healing, meditation, expansion of consciousness, communication with guides, past-life recall, attracting love or prosperity, or virtually any purpose. However, with this power comes huge responsibility. To benefit from Clear Quartz blessings, one must feel in harmony with it and deserve its gifts. Intent other than for good inevitably brings harm back on oneself. You may find Clear Quartz at the following stores:

During this ritual, we shall also be harnessing the power of mantras. Mantra chanting/singing is a time-honoured practice that is prevalent in many belief systems around the world. When we chant/sing a mantra, we are choosing to invoke the positive power contained in those particular syllables. For the first week (June 3rd - 9th) of our mantra-based syllabus, we shall be chanting/singing the Adi mantra:

“Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo”

which translates to:

I bow to the infinite creator of all. I bow to the divine subtle teacher who guides my soul...

We shall also be immersed in the second mantra during the restorative meditation portion of our ritual. This mantra is called the Devi prayer, and comprises of the 108 names of the Divine Mother. With the invocation of this mantra, we honour the sacred feminine and behold all of creation. Listen to its soothing tones before our ritual today. For optimal effect, close your eyes and breathe in - deep and full, breathe out - long and smooth...
