Capricorn New Moon Ritual

The last New Moon (December 26th) of the year ushers us into the season of Capricorn, a time where we can transform and refine our focus following the expansive energy of Sagittarius. This is the Season to create clear intentions about who you are and what you want to do with your time. Capricorn’s energy bring us determination to accomplish our goals and shows us how to live our dreams.

Symbolised by the mythical sea-goat, Capricorn reminds us that we have the fortitude to meet any challenges that come our way. This is the season to truly feel into our inner power and learn to truly commit to our vision. Governed by the Earth element and Saturn, the planet of responsibility, Capricorn season may bring us a grounding sense of gravitas, as we realise another year is upon us. This season is a time to contemplate what is truly worth our limited resources - our time, focus and energy. Over the holiday season, we may overstretch ourselves over many obligations, but which ones truly warrant the attention?

Amid all the possible experiences you can live, which ones truly speak to your inner truth? Consider who you are at your core and manifest the most authentic expression of your soul. In this season of celebration, celebrate the divine spirit that is YOU. Part of this season is about merging our inner world with the external one. What do you honour in yourself and how do you continue to hold up your integrity in every situation? Capricorn brings us a grounding energy that reminds us of our connection with Mother Earth. At any moment we can align our vibration with support and structure of Pachamama.

This week December 23rd - 31st, HOA takes a break for the holidays, but we recommend the following practices in place of our usual New Moon Ritual.

The following meditation is intended to plug us back into to feel supported, nourished and energetically integrated. The Earth also provides a space to shed unwanted energies. Begin with a seated position and begin awareness of the breath. Next, visualise a white cord emerging from your spine, through the crown of the head and reaching down to the center of the Earth. On the inhale, imagine receiving the Earth’s energy. On the exhale, release the energies that no longer serve you. You have the option of chanting Vajrasattva mantra: “Om Benza Satto Hung” up to 108 times to purify your energy field. If possible, practice this meditation during the Solar Eclipse & New Moon on December 26th. Remember that we always have this connection to the Earth, just as sure as the ground is always underneath our feet.

Another notable event this Capricorn season is Solstice, on the December 21st. Those living on the Northern hemisphere experience the longest night of the year, whereas the South experiences the longest day of the year. As Singapore lies one degree north of the equator, we may feel a slight, gradual lengthening of the days after Solstice. As the darkest night of the year, traditionally Winter Solstice (or Yule) is a time for introspection, but also takes shape as prayer to receive illumination, symbolised by the return of the Sun. On this auspicious day, we may want to design a cleansing ceremony of our own, drawing inspiration from the season or from past rituals. It may be useful to also take note of the elements involved: Light and Earth. Feel deep into yourself and proceed to clear out the energies accumulated this past Solar cycle. It may help to vocalise your intentions to seal your magic spell.

HOA recommends the crystal Malachite for your ceremonial use this Capricorn season. Malachite is a protection stone, absorbing negative energies and pollutants from the atmosphere and from the body. It guards against radiation of all kinds, clears electromagnetic pollution and heals earth energies. Known also as the stone of transformation, the Malachite crystal brings energy and focus to new growth while helping us overcome limiting inhibitions.

Meditate with Malachite and feel all Chakra centers being cleansed and purified, removing emotional blockages and opening your heart up to new experiences. If you find yourself wandering down memory lane, Malachite reminds you that memories are like an old highway. Malachite helps us find the strength to release the past and everything else that no longer serves a purpose. The Malachite crystal is also excellent for new relationships. Known in the crystal healing world as a warrior stone, Malachite serves as a guardian of the heart, the area that often takes a brutal beating. Whether it is closed to heal emotional wounds or open to new love, Malachite is on guard, allowing its healing energy to flow through your heart chakras and giving you a new sense of vitality and spiritual renewal.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
